Project Snapshot

  • End client: HarbourView
  • Event partners: Angi & Co, Captivate Productions
  • Venue: St. Regis, Miami Beach
  • Scope: 25-foot floating pool sign — 3D foam letters, 4″ thick, 288″ × 65″, two colors (pink and white), with acrylic spine strips and water-weight anchors
  • Timeline: Five business days from sign-off to install
  • Install: Off-hours, restricted-access poolside

The Project

A luxury event at the St. Regis Miami Beach with celebrity attendees doesn’t leave much margin for signage that doesn’t land. HarbourView, working with event partners Angi & Co and Captivate Productions, needed a 25-foot floating pool sign as the visual centerpiece of the activation — the kind of brand moment that anchors event photography, social posts, and guest experience from the moment doors open.

The brief came in with a reference image from a similar past activation, two brand colors, and a hard timeline: five business days from sign-off to install.

The Challenge

A 25-foot floating pool sign at a luxury Miami Beach venue carries constraints most event signage doesn’t:

  • Five business days from sign-off to install. Design, fabrication, finishing, transport, and on-site setup — all compressed into a workweek. No room for a foam pour redo, a color mismatch, or a structural rethink.
  • Oversized, engineered to float. At 288 inches long, 65 inches tall, and 4 inches thick, the sign had to hold structural integrity across its full length while floating on water. Foam letters at that scale want to flex, separate, and shift in any current.
  • Off-hours install with restricted access. Luxury Miami Beach venues don’t accommodate a daytime delivery crew rolling 25 feet of letters through the property. The install window was off-hours, with limited routes in and limited staging time on the deck.

Our Approach

Custom 3D foam pool letters, engineered for the water. We fabricated the sign as 4-inch-thick 3D foam letters in two coordinated colors — pink and white — sized to read clearly across the pool deck and in photography from every guest angle. Foam was the right call for a floating sign at this scale: light enough to float, dense enough to hold shape and finish, color-matchable to the brand spec.

Acrylic spine strips to hold the line. A 25-foot floating sign isn’t one piece — it’s a coordinated line of letters that has to stay aligned on a moving surface. We engineered acrylic strips along the back of the sign to hold the letters together as a single composition, so the piece reads as one intentional sign from every angle, not a row of separate letters drifting toward each other.

Water-weight anchoring for position control. Two water-weight bags built into the rig let us position the sign exactly where it needed to sit on the pool — not adrift. Which led to the project’s most consequential design call.

The call to anchor in place, not float free. The original brief called for the letters to float around the pool. On-site, we saw the issue the brief hadn’t accounted for: the event area was on one side of the pool only. A free-floating sign would drift out of guest sightlines and out of camera frame — defeating the entire purpose of a centerpiece moment. With no time to bring the client back through a redesign, we made the call to anchor the sign in a visible, photo-ready position on the event side, prioritizing the activation’s actual purpose over the original spec. The result: the sign was in every photo, on every angle, all night.

The Result

The 25-foot pool sign was installed on schedule, held structural integrity through the full event, and read clearly from every guest position and every camera angle. Celebrity attendees turned the activation into the kind of brand moment HarbourView, Angi & Co, and Captivate Productions had built the event to produce.

The client’s note after the event: “Thank you so much for all your hard work.”

Why Event and Wedding Planners Choose Titans of Print for Luxury Event Signage

Event signage doesn’t get a soft opening. The piece either lands the moment doors open or it becomes a problem in real time — at a venue, in front of a client, in front of guests, often with cameras already rolling.

For more than 20 years, Titans of Print has produced custom event signage and branded displays for brand activations, corporate events, and luxury private events across South Florida. Our event work includes large-format signage and step-and-repeat backdrops for clients like Google and Best Buy, alongside private and luxury events at venues across Miami Beach and Brickell.

Working with event planners means working in compressed timelines, restricted-access venues, and one-shot installs. That’s the discipline we bring.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are custom floating pool letters? Custom floating pool letters are oversized 3D foam letters designed to float on the surface of a pool or water feature as part of an event activation, wedding, brand launch, or photo moment. They’re typically fabricated from dense closed-cell foam, finished in custom colors, and engineered to hold shape and color on water.

How large can floating pool letters be? We’ve produced floating pool signage up to 25 feet long with letter heights over 5 feet. At larger scales, the engineering involves acrylic spine strips, anchoring systems, and water-weight ballast to keep the piece together and in position.

What’s the typical lead time for custom event signage? Standard production runs 10–14 business days. We can compress that significantly when an event date requires it — this project was designed, fabricated, and installed in five business days from sign-off. Rush work is available, but the design has to be locked early in the timeline.

Can you install at luxury Miami Beach venues like the St. Regis? Yes. We routinely install at luxury Miami Beach and Miami venues with off-hours access, restricted entry routes, and active event production schedules. Coordination with venue staff and the event production team is part of our process.

Do you handle signage for both corporate events and private events? Yes. We work with brand activation teams, corporate event managers, wedding planners, and private event producers across South Florida. The fabrication discipline is the same; the design language adjusts to the event.
