4 Kinds of Tablecloths Used for Imprinted Table Covers
Aside from their primary role of protecting tables from harm, tablecloths can also be an opportunity to bring color and design to the kitchen or outside living area. In addition to cotton, polyester, linen, and vinyl, tablecloths can be fashioned of silk or organza for weddings and other special events. The material you choose for your tablecloth is determined by its intended use, but each material has advantages and disadvantages in terms of practicality or aesthetics.
Cotton (not offered)
Cotton tablecloths are an ideal choice for everyday use. Cotton is cheap to produce and manufacture, therefore it’s available in a wide variety of forms. There may be some color leaking after laundering some multicolored tablecloths made of cotton. However, the majority of cotton tablecloths are easily washable. Spot cleaning cotton tablecloths with a moist towel or sponge is another option. Cotton is one of the most long-lasting textiles there is. Additionally, cotton tablecloths can be found in a broad variety of colors and patterns. As long as you don’t leave your cotton tablecloths out for long periods of time, they can mildew or degrade.
A polyester tablecloth has many of the same advantages as a cotton tablecloth. When polyester is blended with other fibers, such as cotton, it is known as a polyester-cotton blend. Polyester, like cotton, is long-lasting, machine-washable, affordable, and comes in a variety of colors and designs. Polyester, in contrast to cotton, does not shrink when dried for an extended period of time in a dryer. Weddings and other formal events are better suited to polyester since it has a somewhat smoother and glossier appearance than cotton. Polyester can trigger allergic reactions in some people due to the chemicals used in its production.
Vinyl tablecloths are ideal for casual outdoor eating and picnics since they are weather-resistant and easy to clean. Stained, wet or air-exposed vinyl is resistant to deterioration from these environmental factors. If you’re planning a formal wedding or event, a vinyl tablecloth may not be the best option. Many different colors and patterns of vinyl tablecloths are offered to match any decor. One of the least expensive options for tablecloths is vinyl, which is also one of the most durable but it is not as fitted due to its harder nature.
Don’t stress over the occasional spill. This table throw features a stain-resistant treatment that repels liquids instead of absorbing them.
Specialty Fabrics (not offered)
Specialty tablecloths, such as silk, are used for formal occasions like weddings. However, silk tablecloths have a sumptuous appearance and a wide range of formal designs and styles, including embroidery, that make them more expensive. While customized tablecloths necessitate extra care and attention during cleaning, they are typically only utilized on rare occasions. You may want to think about renting specialized linens rather than buying them in bulk to save money.
Printing Options for Imprinted Table Cloths
Silk Screening (not offered)
Automated silkscreen printing equipment is used for custom printed tablecloths in this way. Manufacturers can make each item properly and fast using this printing equipment, but the prolonged setup process means that orders of 12 or more are usually required as this is a bulk option which has a more limited size. In the case of simple vector designs with few colors, silk screening is a great alternative.
The flags are then subjected to a heat-treatment process. This is performed not only to improve the quality of the printed images but also to protect the inks from harsh weather conditions, ensuring that they will last longer. The inks penetrate the fabric and cover it almost completely on the opposite side.
To finish off, the flags are hemmed and trimmed before being reinforced on the head and one side. Afterward, the grommets are placed and the final product is packaged for shipping. There you have it! Finished silk-screened flag!
A large-size inkjet printer is used for this kind allowing you to digitally imprint your design on a special material which gets plotted and then heat pressed into the material. There are no minimum order limitations for digitally custom printed tablecloths, which is a major perk except for paying per location. You can order as many digitally printed table throws as you like, regardless of how many you need. It is possible to use digital printing processes to produce table covers that include photos and fine features.
Dye sublimation tablecloths are noted for their vibrant hues. This is due to the white fabric absorbing the ink, making the various shades more obvious. They also feature high-quality images that are comparable to photographs in their handmade tablecloths. Instead of the halftones used in digital printing to approximate different colors, this method uses continuous tones. It is possible to print long-lasting pictures on custom tablecloths using dye sub printing.
The greatest tablecloths for companies who want to showcase their bright colors, logos, and graphics are dye sub-printed tablecloths. Graphics are not only more vibrant, but they may also cover a larger area and even survive longer than those created using conventional methods. It’s also possible to use customized photographs in a variety of methods that have their own advantages.
For dye sublimation printing, the reverse copy of your finished graphic is imprinted onto transfer paper. Then, using a heat press, the picture is pressed onto fabric at 375° F. Under these extreme conditions, the dyes in the fabric become gases that seep into and harden within the fibers of the flag. It is now firmly printed in order to wash the pattern without affecting the image quality.
Screen Printing vs. Sublimation
Screen Printing (not offered)
The ink is pushed into the fabric through a mesh stencil in the process. T-shirts and other clothing are commonly used for this. Screen printing is a low-cost option, but it necessitates the creation of a new stencil for each pattern and color with high minimums. As a stencil, the graphics tend to be simplistic and lack a lot of color variation. If you think of it as using stencils when you are drawing, there isn’t much area for more complex designs. Colorful graphics can be created with dye sublimation printing.
Sublimation has the benefit to having zero limits of artwork, colors or locations or minimums since the entire fabric is printed on a roll of material. Whether you print 1 logo or 100 on the area, the fee will be the same.
Why Sublimation Printing is Better
Using full-color printing, sublimation allows for a wide range of design possibilities. Screen printing has a smaller range of printable materials, while digital printing has a much wider range. Screen printing is a good option for quick and simple designs. However, in most circumstances, sublimation is the preferable choice.
It’s true that dye sublimation printing is more expensive than heat transfer printing, but the image it produces is superior in quality and can be utilized for many years. There are far more possibilities for what can be imprinted on than with other less expensive printing methods, allowing for more creativity.
If you’re looking for something that only needs to be used for a short while, heat transfer can be a good option. It’s advisable to go for dye sublimation printing if you plan on keeping the item for an extended period of time and intending to wash it to maintain it in excellent shape.
Sublimation is an excellent method for creating your own designs, but it can also be used to create high-quality items, and the knowledge in this guide should help you do just that.
